Our Commitments
At Le Cocon Blanc, we make it a point of honor to create products that respect the skin, nature, and living things.
Cruelty-free silk, a unique commitment
The Bombyx mori, also known as the silkworm, is a butterfly that has been domesticated for thousands of years for its precious fiber. Traditionally, in sericulture, the cocoons are scalded with the live chrysalis inside to extract a continuous thread of silk. In our industry, the approach is completely different: we let the chrysalises hatch naturally . Once out of their cocoon, the butterflies are separated to regulate their reproduction and peacefully complete their life cycle. It is only after they have hatched that we collect the cocoons, thus preserving the integrity of the living while benefiting from the incredible properties of silk for the skin.
But silk cannot exist without its essential plant companion: the mulberry tree . Our silkworms are fed exclusively on mulberry leaves grown organically by our producer in the Cévennes. These plots are cultivated without pesticides or chemical inputs, guaranteeing a healthy diet for the worms and silk production free from harmful residues.
Excellent, ethical and responsible French perfumes
All our creations are delicately scented with quality French fragrances . Our scents comply with European regulations. They are not tested on animals .
Organic ingredients
We prioritize organic raw materials whenever possible. Our vegetable oils, butters, and natural active ingredients are carefully selected for their benefits, offering your skin the best that nature has to offer.
Natural mineral colorants: micas
To bring subtle nuances to our creations, we use micas, natural minerals with luminous reflections. Our micas are of European origin , guaranteeing traceability and ethical production. None of our micas come from China or India, where their extraction can pose environmental and social problems.
Our micas are nanoparticle-free, allergen-free , and classified as "non-hazardous" according to European directives. They are not tested on animals , thus respecting our commitment to clean and ethical cosmetics.
Quality control
Each recipe is verified by an independent toxicologist. Our formulas are rigorously designed and manufactured in a laboratory, in strict compliance with European regulation EC No. 1223/2009 and Good Manufacturing Practices.
We follow the quality standards of ISO 22716 to guarantee you safe, effective, and skin-friendly products.
